Cranberry Gimlet is the perfect fizzy drink for the holidays! A fizzy ruby red cocktail; who could say no to this? A lovely mix of aromas from bitter cranberry to sweet mandarine, orange-infused gin and a touch of sparkling wine!

The Holidays will taste much better this year! Impress your guests with this fizzy Christmas Cranberry Gimlet! The drink uses cranberry juice, the juice of a mandarine, some Sevilla-infused Tanqueray Gin (not sponsored), homemade cinnemon and mandarin syrup, and a lot of sparking wine! Because for the Holidays… bubbles are mandatory!


A Gimlet is an old classic of gin, sugar and lime. It was invented by sailors to fight against scurvy, in other words, to preserve the limes for longer on their long journeys. Still, many years later, this beloved sweet-and-sour drink is a scrumptious classic!

Christmas Version

Cranberry Gimlet

To make this drink Christmas’y’, I’ve switched the sour lime with cranberries. Not the sweetened mixed with other juices type, but the deep ruby red condensed cranberry juice. Often found in the Bio section in a glass bottle. You need the cranberry’s authentic sour and bitter taste and colour to make this drink perfect! Also, two new ingredients to make it more festive: the juice of a mandarine and sparkling wine!

Special Gin

Cranberry Gimlet

I’ve used a unique gin for this recipe, a Tanqueray Sevilla orange-flavoured one, but any gin in this style would do. FYI, I’m not sponsored and would like to point out that this discovery is perfect for many Holiday drinks! So delicious!

Homemade Mandarine Syrup

I did some candied mandarine to decorate for Christmas and kept the syrup. Fantastic stuff to have around for the holidays! Boil sliced mandarine in water with a cinnamon stick for 45 minutes to an hour, and voila! Dry the mandarine slices for later use, and keep the fantastic syrup for this cocktail and many more drinks!

A fizzy ruby red cocktail perfect for the holiday season with cranberry, mandarin, gin, syrup and lovely sparkling wine. The Holidays will taste so much better this year!


  • 30 ml cranberry concentrated juice
  • 30 ml Seville Orange Flavored Gin (Tanqueray)
  • 30 ml orange syrup with cinnamon (homemade) (or simple syrup)
  • 1 mandarin juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 60 ml sparkling wine (to fill the leftover )


  • In a shaker add all the indredients except the sparkling wine and shake with ice cubes until cold.
  • Add to a champagne glass and top it with sparkling wine and a mandarine.
