Want to try something new? Something smooth and fun? Try this Avocado Hot Dog this summer with old-fashioned mustard and sprouts for a crunch to upgrade your BBQ classic!
Summer is here, and we have yummy new recipes for BBQ season! Who doesn’t like a good hot dog? This version is a little greener than usual. There is no ketchup here, which is filled with sugar anyway—pure candy. I’ve exchanged it for honey mustard. A delicious Frankfurt-style sausage is slowly grilled to perfection, lying on a bed of crunchy sprouts. This Avocado Hot Dog is the way to go: a classical dish turned gourmet!
Type of Bread

Baguettes are great for hot dogs! I always use baguettes since there aren’t many healthy choices in hot dog bread varieties where I live. I would rather have a soft type of baguette without too many conservants and enhancers than a fluffy eternal type of bun. You go with your favourite on this!
Mustard Choice
There are many mustard options: Old-fashioned, also known as whole-grain mustard, is great and sweet, but Dijon mustard would add a lovely spicy touch. Dijonnaise, a mix of Dijon mustard and mayonnaise, would also be a smooth variation. However, I wouldn’t recommend the strong yellow mustard or the typical one.

Other Toppins Ideas
This hot dog could also use crunchy fried onion bits on top or diced tomatoes to give it a Mexican Pico de Gallo touch! You are the chef here!
